When to use 96130

Use 96130 for the clinician’s first hour of psychological testing evaluation. For neuropsychological testing, use 96132 instead. Add 96131 for each additional hour.

How to bill it

Report one unit for the first hour and add 96131 for additional time. Separate the evaluation (96130/96131) from technician administration (96138/96139) when applicable.
